i am no michelle

I am in a photography class this semester and my next assignment due is a landscape/nature photgraph. I have had a miserable time thus far because I know how to identify a great picture but not how to take one. The assignment require us to take 24 photos but only turn in one so I would like to provide a few of the best (of what I have) and get your opinion on which one I should use. All pictures were taken in Sedona. Please list your choice with your reason in the comments section. Click on the photos to enlarge them.

times they are a changin'

I absolutely, positively cannot wait for May 13, 2006. Not only is it the day I officially graduate but it is when the bleeding will finally stop. Flagstaff will become a great memory (the only way for Flagstaff to be considered great is as a distant memory). I can't wait to be living in a warmer climate. And as sad as it may be, outside the wedding, I most look forward to TiVo or DVR. Really, I do. I want to be able to watch good TV at convenient times rather than crappy TV at convenient times because simply not watching TV isn't an option. Also, I miss parks. I miss flat cities. I miss cookie cutter buildings and desert landscape. It may be sacrilegious to some of you but I prefer rock and cactus to any other landscape, even ocean. Besides, California is an awesome place to visit, so, if you live there, where do you spend your vacations? I will miss friends here. Let's not kid ourselves, we will miss Bryan and Colleen, our only friends here. But they and the possibility of Becca transferring here will be good reason to visit (not to mention New Jersey Pizza).

Rachel and I did a pretty kickbutt job of wrapping up some much needed wedding plans. We picked out flowers, tuxes, a rehearsal dinner location and tried some wedding cake. The rehearsal dinner will be at BJ's, a restaurant/brewery near Rachel's home in Las Vegas and the menu will most likely include unlimited pizza, salad and soft drinks. Hard drinks? You are on your own.

Rachel and I love to look at potential living arrangements after graduation. If we ultimately end up in Phoenix (you can come too Hanna family, just up and quit you current jobs, it will be fine), we like the Trillium properties, most notably: Edge, Venu and Rio Salado. We looked at the Edge in person and they were pretty darn awesome. It's all very speculative as much will be determined once the job picture clears up.

When I ran spell check, it wanted me to replace Colleen with clean, so, props to you Colleen.

time flies

It is crazy how fast time is going. The school weeks go by fast and the weekends even faster. Before I know it, I will be a married college graduate in a different city with a full-time job (cross your fingers). I have known this forever but when I stop to really think about it, it's crazy. I couldn't be more excited. To have all the changes coming at once will be a lot of fun and I am glad I get to celebrate most of it with the important people in my life.

Rachel and I are scheduled to get a lot more wedding stuff done this weekend in Las Vegas. We need to look at flowers, cakes, tuxes and places for the rehearsal dinner. We are planning on talking to a manager at BJ's Brewery because they offer food buffet style for parties of more than 20 at a reasonable price. Also, bad weather and possibly snow might be rolling into Flagstaff this weekend so I am glad we are getting out of here.

For some reason, Mac computers don't offer the hyperlink option so I am not able to go as link crazy as I liked to in the past. Too bad.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

oh dear

Looks like finding intelligence in the White House is as easy as finding weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

"Vice President Dick Cheney accidentally shot and wounded a companion during a weekend quail hunting trip in Texas, spraying the fellow hunter in the face and chest with shotgun pellets."

Good job, Dick.
